The Faculty of Humanities enables information to be sent via a faculty-wide email distribution list, to which every member of the Faculty of Humanities is automatically subscribed and can also send messages.
Background to the establishment of the distribution list
The Dean's Office regularly receives requests to forward event announcements, invitations, etc. A large proportion of these can be found on the website, in the event calendar, or via the regular faculty distribution list. The Dean's Office only forwards information relevant to the faculty to all members of the faculty via the latter.
Of course, other information from the institutes, such as events organized by individual institutes, is also relevant to faculty operations, which is why the Dean's Office provides a second distribution list accessible to all faculty members as a platform for exchange.
Registration and deregistration
All faculty members who have a work email address are automatically registered in the 'voluntary' distribution list called INFO-PHIL. It is therefore not necessary to register yourself!
However, you can deregister from this distribution list and, if you are interested in rejoining at some point, you can do so yourself. This can be done via the corresponding website by entering your work email address and selecting “Leave INFO-PHIL” or “Join INFO-PHIL.”
Unfortunately, it is not possible to register non-university or non-faculty addresses due to the faculty's membership requirements.
Your participation as a recipient in the distribution list will not be displayed by name to other participants.
Please note that rejoining the distribution list may take some time and that subsequent emails to the list may therefore be delayed.
Posting rules
Only information that concerns the faculty or individual institutes or that may be of interest to the faculty and its institutes or several status groups should be posted.
Please keep the number of posts to a minimum in order to accommodate more sensitive email account holders.
Sending posts
You can send your own info post by email to INFO-PHIL@LISTSERV.UNI-HANNOVER.DE or log in to the website using a previously requested password and post your contribution via “Post New Message” using the form available there.
Note: Sending may take a few minutes and must always be confirmed via a link that will be sent to you personally in a confirmation email. Your info post will then be sent to all list participants.
Please do not send any registration or deregistration information to the distribution list address. Instead, follow the procedure described above (“Registration and deregistration”).
Please note that the maximum size of emails sent via the list service is 10 MB.
