Once a year, the Faculty of Humanities and the Leibniz School of Education celebrate the successful completion of their master's degrees in a festive ceremony.
The next master's degree graduation ceremony will take place on November 6, 2026, in the Lichthof of Leibniz University. Invitations will be sent out in late summer/fall.
Review: Master's Graduation Ceremony November 2025
On November 28, 2025, the Faculty of Humanities, together with the Leibniz School of Education, celebrated their master's graduates in a festive ceremony.
Two hundred students who completed their teaching-related master's degrees or degrees in all other master's programs at the Faculty of Humanities in the 2025 academic year were bid farewell in a ceremony held in the Lichthof of Leibniz University.
Prof. Dr. Claudia Schomaker, Dean of Studies at the Faculty of Humanities, and Prof. Dr. Katharina Müller, Director of the Leibniz School of Education, hosted the event and guided the graduates through the evening.
The Teaching Awards of the Faculty of Humanities were also presented during the ceremony. The award for special commitment to teaching was presented to Dr. Jennifer Wengler (Department of Romance Languages, 1st prize), Dr. Stephanie Beyer (Institute of Sociology, 2nd prize), Liam Harrold (Department of History, 2nd prize), and Prof. Dr. Henning Laux (Institute of Sociology, 3rd prize). The Campus-Cultur Award for students was presented to Till Ewald (Department of History).
After the presentation of the letters of congratulations, the guests toasted the great successes and had the opportunity to take souvenir photos in their gowns. The event was accompanied by the duo twintone.
