The prize is awarded every two years for theoretically and methodologically robust, innovative contributions in the field of empirical writing research published in the Journal of Writing Research. The prize is worth €1,000 and includes a keynote lecture at the next SIG Writing conference. The award-winning paper, “Does the relationship between executive functions and L2 writing depend on language proficiency?”, forms part of the cumulative doctoral thesis that Lisa Haake completed in 2025 at the Faculty of Humanities with the distinction summa cum laude(supervisor: Prof. Dr Joachim Grabowski).
