General Information
Appointment procedures follow a standardized, multi-stage process. They involve many individuals as well as various internal university committees and bodies. Once the application deadline has passed, the appointment committee meets to review the applications. In one or two selection stages, the shortlisted candidates are chosen and asked to submit written materials or invited to an interview.
After an interview, the appointment committee usually narrows down the pool of eligible applicants to three people. The Faculty Council of the Faculty of Humanities and Senate of Leibniz University Hannover then decide on the appointment proposal or issue a statement on it and submit it to the Presidential Board, which decides on the proposal in agreement with the Foundation Council. The appointment can then be made by Leibniz University. -
